Humanists then were those who sought to return to the classical sources (Greco-Roman poetry, the biblical text). They should be understood in contrast to people like Aquinas. Perhaps the most pre-eminent of these folks was Desidrus Erasmus. A name worth checking into<BR/><BR/>Bill,<BR/>Yeah Calvin did have a rocky life.
